Programme Summary

This program is a foundational set consisting of two levels which can be delivered as day long face to face sessions or 4 half day virtual sessions. Levels can be run as a sequential programme as part of ongoing development planning, or to support targeted roles.

This course looks at some essential concepts of what it is to be in a management or supervisory role, and provides some practical tools that can be used on a day to day basis. It also covers some theories that can be used to structure our understanding of experiences we have in roles, and how we can change and add for different results.

WHAT WILL PEOPLE LEARN

This course looks at how teams develop over time, and how they are impacted by change. Using some key models, we look at what managers can do to lead their teams through uncertainty and strengthen their bond and effectiveness while doing so. We also cover how to identify, measure and feedback on performance, whilst keeping a focus on developing individual potential.

KEY OUTCOMES

By the end of Management Essentials you will be able to:

Understand the difference between being managed and managing
Feel more confident in understanding and using your line management qualities and strengths
