According to the Royal Society of Chemistry, it was the Alchemist’s lifelong endeavour to: “find the Stone of Knowledge, to discover the medium of Eternal Youth and Health, and to discover the transmutation of metals.”
It seems as though an Alchemist’s mission was to blend precious elements together to make something even more remarkable. So what a poetic reversal that during our cultural transformation project it was in fact the precious elements of Apex and Interact that ended up forming an Alchemist.
As a team, we have connected with the identity of being Alchemists because they are the person actually delivering the change. They are the ones taking bold steps into the unknown and understanding the human elements that we can effect to create a transformation change. Which is how we identify our learning experiences.
From the marketing perspective, this identity being the outcome of our cultural fusion programme has been a gift. It is literal, metaphorical, philosophical and scientific all at once. And Alchemist Also Allows Awesome Alliteration. But that’s just marketing… The real learning for me has been that the identity, our new social media channels, this website – they’re all just vessels. Alchemist is just a vessel too. But what it contains is the real precious cargo… us.
The characters, personalities and talents that have come together and united under this new identity are what really makes Alchemist precious. By combining the strengths of the people who made Apex and Interact great on their own, we catalyse each other to be better than we were individually. And to be bolder in the solutions we create for our customers. With the hard work, consideration, and development we have undertaken to create Alchemist, I know we have taken the best elements from each of our heritage brands and blended them together to develop something truly special, and unique.
When it came to revealing our new identity we did a great deal of internal workshops. We wanted to ensure the whole team had a real opportunity to connect and contribute to who we are going to be as we move forwards. What the team didn’t know at the time was that the workshops I was running were priming them to develop their personal brand within Alchemist and celebrate what they each bring to the mix. After the workshops I gave everyone in the team some homework… which are all of the Insight Articles that will be published on this website as we go live.
They’re the thoughts and musings about the work we do and the industry we work in. Our professional passions and observations. We think you all deserve to know that elements go into our learning programmes, and the biggest ingredient of all is us… your Alchemists.
With that, I hope you have a chance to get to know us better by reading through our articles. Because this is us. This is Alchemist.
