Many of us have attended Virtual Training sessions, and face to face ones too. And the vast majority are excellent and really get us thinking. They also shine a bright light on areas we perhaps were familiar with. Or on how we can do things differently.
However, as soon as the training stops the bright light dims. And in most cases it goes out completely. This is because the busyness of work takes over and we never use the learning to our advantage. All because it seems like an interruption to work rather than a help or an enabler for work. In fact, some research even suggests that only one in ten people who attend training actually use any of the learning or tools provided. This is a truly low number indeed. Learning is now seen as a “break from work” and a “chance to meet others”. And whilst this is also good, it should still be seen as what it is – which is a great opportunity to learn and develop.
So how can technology help? Well, here at Alchemist we know that the only way to truly benefit from training is to implement what you have learned. And to have a chance to practise your learning to make sure it is embedded. To enable this, you have to have easy access to the content you experienced again, so you can revisit key areas.
We have developed a technology that assists you in getting the very best from any virtual or face to face training you attend. Our Learning Journey App and supporting Website help structure your learning so you have everything in one place. This includes key tasks/mini assignments throughout that help keep you engaged with your learning. As well as to ensure that you do get to practice and try things differently. Remember – if you do the same as you have always done, you will only ever get the same results!
Virtually everyone who attends a training programme loses their handouts instantly. Or they are placed in a drawer, never to be looked at again. The Learning Journey App/Website allows you to attend virtual sessions, view supporting resources, and complete tasks/assignments that drive you to implement what you have learned. We also have a variety of e-learning and diagnostic tools that help vastly increase your chances of benefitting from your learning.
So… does it work?
The answer is… yes! Due to the structure of our App and the use of our technology within it, it enables participants to really engage with their learning and development. To the point where participants are actually keen to tell us how they have benefitted from working with us. The results and comments we are seeing have been fantastic, and shows us that with a little bit of technical support real results can be achieved. Just ask the thousands of users who are making learning fun, and the clients who choose Alchemist because we are Bold, Human, and Perceptive.
We at Alchemist have always prided ourselves on being able to provide both sides of the coin – the Human and the Technological. As well as, of course, a blend of the two. However, over the course of the last few years, all forms of our offerings have had to provide combinations of both elements. Experiential simulations have needed both actors, and complex digital systems to run. Assessments that have previously been face to face have needed technology to deliver the same experience virtually. And our Apps have needed that Human touch to mould them specifically for the client. To make sure that what they want from the technology is what they get, and more, each and every time.
